the flash of an older face

in true aunt lori fashion, zoe made sure to have her eyes shut during the only picture i could take of her in her dress yesterday. i'm teasing lori, but darn it if she didnt close her eyes the second i took the picture. oh well.

this morning, we woke up at 5:45, after another 5 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep. this is the third morning to have nearly 6 hours, from around midnight to around 6. this is an exciting development, and we'll keep you posted. so, after a lovely feeding, the girl fell asleep, and i started doing the dishes. she woke up again around 8, hungry, but in a very sweet mood. so, like the good mother i am, instead of feeding her, i took pictures. what can i say, my devotion knows no bounds.

i was very pleased with the outcome of the pictures, since i got, not one, but TWO pictures of her smiling. and one picture of a face she will grow into. it was a little poignant to see such an old expression on that face, but at least she'll be really cute as she gets older. so, enough of my ramblings, here's the pictures. i know it's been a couple of days, and i'm surprised the lynch mob hasn't come after me for my delay. just kidding... but you know who you are. :)
